Zachary Hewett appointed president of North Carolina Government Finance Officers Association

BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The Village of Bald Head Island announced that finance director Zachary Hewett was appointed to serve as president of the North Carolina Government Finance Officers Association (NCGFOA).

This statewide organization provides members training, promotes best practices and advocated on behalf of local government finance professionals.

Hewett will lead the executive committee and help keep the organization focused on their mission.

“Serving as President of NCGFOA is an opportunity and privilege to help elevate the local government finance profession in North Carolina,” Hewett said. “To me, it means stewarding an organization that strengthens public finance through professionalism, ethical leadership, and shared learning—so local governments can make sound decisions with the public’s trust at the center.
