It's only fitting that a team from the south faced a team from the Pacific Islands in the championship game of the 38th Annual Cape Fear Rugby Sevens Tournament in New Hanover County on Sunday. The Wilmington Hammerheads haven't lost a league soccer game at home all season. That trend held up on Saturday against the Richmond Kickers. Across the fence the Wilmington Sharks summer league baseball team also won on Saturday night. Full story...

Corey Hertzog of the Wilmington Hammerheads was named USL Pro player of the week after his two goal performance in Saturday's 4-2 win over the LA Blues. The Wilmington Sharks were in action at Legion Stadium, surf's up at Wrightsville Beach and UNCW has announced Beau Bunn as their diving coach. Full story...

The Wilmington Hammerheads got back into the win column on Saturday night at Legion Stadium against the Los Angeles Blues.
