video WWAY’s Friday night sports segment featured the Wilmington Sea Dawgs semi-pro basketball team at home against Big Texas. We also went to Brooks Field to check out UNCW against Hofstra in a battle of the top two teams in the CAA. We even featured high school baseball action between Laney and New Hanover, as well as Wilmington Christian.

Jordan Brand Classic tips off Saturday

New Hanover High School will be well represented in Charlotte on Saturday at the 11th Annual Jordan Brand Classic. The showcase event will be held at the home of the NBA Charlotte Bobcats. Wildcat senior Kadeem Allen will play on the NC East Regional team. Wildcat head coach Kirk Angel and Millbrook coach Scott McInnis will be the co-coaches of Allen's squad.

WWAY's Thursday night sports - April 12

video WWAY's Thursday night sports previewed the Jordan Brand Classic high school basketball all-star games in Charlotte on Saturday. We also previewed the Azalea Festival’s amateur boxing tournament that will take place on Saturday and Sunday in Wilmington. We checked out high school track & field and lacrosse action, as well.

WWAY's Wednesday night sports - April 11 - National Signing Day

video The Wednesday night sports segment featured some of the region’s high school seniors signing letters of intent to play collegiate sports on National Signing Day. We also checked out the UNCW baseball team on the road versus Charleston Southern. We even featured high school boys tennis action between New Hanover and Hoggard.

WWAY's Tuesday night sports - April 10

video On Tuesday night the New Hanover County School Board recognized the New Hanover boys basketball team for winning the 4-A state championship in high school basketball. WWAY was there for that. We also checked out baseball action from UNCW and Ashley High School (and softball). On top of that we covered the resignation of UNCW women's basketball coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke.

New CFCC women's basketball team announces charter class

video For the past year, Cape Fear Community College has been getting ready for a new edition. No, not a new building or parking deck.
