The UNCW men's soccer team now has two victories this season over a nationally ranked opponent. The first one occurred last Friday. The Seahawks picked up their second on Tuesday. The Ashley Screaming Eagles overcame an early deficit to take the lead in the second half against White Oak on Monday night, but the Vikings prevailed in the end against Ashley. On Monday we also featured former New Hanover football standout Trevon Brown. The East Carolina freshman wide receiver caught a touchdown pass over the weekend against nationally ranked Virginia Tech. Full story...

Thanks to a bit of creative editing a pair of New Hanover soccer players danced backwards on our sportscast on Monday night on WWAY. The UNCW women's soccer team didn't dance on Monday, but the Seahawks did shutout Coastal Carolina. Former Ashley soccer standout Stanley Broaden scored twice for Appalachian State on Monday. Friday's 5th Quarter was action packed despite the fact we kept our eye on the weather all night long. The first half of the Hoggard game was clearly a spectator's delight. It was a mixture of dynamic plays combined with a bit of intrigue. We have a lengthy recap of the Hoggard game. Unfortunately, it'll go down as a no contest. Several local high school football teams decided to play on Thursday in order to avoid the chance of playing in wet conditions on Friday. The weather forecast on Friday is scattered storms around the region. Regardless, we had our cameras out and about on Thursday. Full story...
