Saturday's game had loads of hype for the UNC Wilmington men's basketball team. A victory for UNCW would have moved the Seahawks into first place in the CAA. On Friday's Full Court Press we showcased the first loss of the season for the West Brunswick boys basketball team. New Hanover edged West Brunswick 62-60. The UNCW men's basketball team got back on track on Wednesday night thanks to senior Freddie Jackson. The former New Hanover Wildcat had a golden shooting touch early on. James Madison never made a game of it. UNCW is now 8-3 in the CAA with three consecutive upcoming homes games on the docket for the Seahawks starting Saturday. Full story...

Wednesday marked the first day of the signing period for fall sports all around the nation. We have an area recap. This includes a 'twin' signing at East Bladen High. ACC teams, East Carolina and UNCW brought in full classes too (Seahawks for soccer) Full story...

On Tuesday on WWAY we featured five different basketball games at five different venues. We checked out action in Rocky Point between the undefeated East Bladen girls vs. Trask. We checked out the undefeated West Brunswick boys against Topsail.
