Three Sharks make CPL All-Star roster

The Coastal Plain League All-Star game will be played next Monday in Fayetteville. Three Wilmington Sharks will be making the trip to Cumberland County for the game.

Flight 22 Blizzard Athletics team falls short in the finals of Myrtle Beach AAU tournament

video Wilmington has an all-star AAU basketball team. They're a strong squad, but they couldn't keep up with another team from North Carolina on Tuesday, a team that has players committed to both Wake Forest and Virginia Tech.

Demon Deacons suspend Ty Walker

Former New Hanover Wildcat center Ty Walker has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules for the Wake Forest basketball team. Walker is still a member of the Demon Deacons basketball squad. A timetable for his return is not known.

Shallotte golfer plays in final foursome at Pebble Beach with pro golfer Jay Haas as his partner

Shallotte's Harrison Taylor and Wilmington's Tim Bringard will be bringing back golf memories that will last a lifetime from Pebble Beach. That's where the Nature Valley First Tee Open concluded on Sunday. Taylor and Bringhard are both youth golfers who are part of the "First Tee" golf program.

Hamerheads knock off Antigua again

The Wilmington Hammerheads earned six points over the weekend with two victories over Antigua Barricuda FC. Sunday's game started more than an hour late, but Wilmington still managed to emerge victorious.

Saturday's legion baseball rained out in Whiteville

Saturday's baseball playoff game in Whiteville was postponed due to rain. Wilmington Post 10 and Whiteville Post 137 will now begin the best of five playoff series in Wilmington on Sunday.

Hammerheads get shutout road win over Antigua

This may end up being the best road trip of the season for the Wilmington Hammerheads. After all, it's the Caribbean. The Hammerheads have one more game in the Caribbean before they have to return to the Port City.
