We had a full slate of high school basketball state playoff action on WWAY on Friday night. It included a wild scene at West Bladen High where a bat interrupted play just after the playoff game at West Bladen tipped off. We had more than our fair share of state playoff high school basketball on WWAY on Thursday night. A handful of our games came down to the wire. That was the case in Wilmington with the New Hanover-South View finish. The Pender-Trask game was equally as close. The West Brunswick Trojans avoided an upset, but it certainly didn't look like they'd be able to pull it out until the end. Plus more! Full story...

There's a new Trask Coliseum scoring record as of Thursday night. The Trask Coliseum scoring record went down Thursday night. To Delaware’s dismay, so did a lot of Brie Mobley’s shots. 46 is the highest points total in CAA history. Full story...

The high school basketball state playoffs were scheduled to start on Tuesday in North Carolina, but there weren't any games around our area until Wednesday night due to Tuesday's snow and ice. Most first round games will be played on Thursday or Friday instead. We have updates on games that involve local schools. Full story...

It took longer than expected, but the high school basketball state playoffs are finally underway. We were in Bladen County on Wednesday to check out the boys basketball showdown between East Bladen and West Bladen. The UNCW Seahawks remain tied for first place in the CAA after Wednesday's victory on Senior Night against James Madison. The Seahawks have a chance to secure the regular season CAA men's basketball title with a road victory on Saturday against Elon. Full story...

It seems like yesterday that Freddie Jackson and Addison Spruill were hoopin' it up on the high school courts around the Wilmington area. They're now about to play their last home game at UNCW's Trask Coliseum along with senior Cedrick Williams. Full story...
