Fifteen Republicans meeting Monday in the old Capitol building in Raleigh picked as the state’s presidential electors cast the state’s 15 electoral votes for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

Unfortunately the playoffs aren’t a possibility for Carolina, but the guys in black, silver and blue won consecutive games for the first time since last December. Headstones get a holiday make-over

What were once bare headstones had a holiday make-over this weekend at the Wilmington National Cemetery. Veterans and supporters attended a “Wreaths Across America Ceremony” where they showed respect for fallen and forgotten soldiers. Though everyone was pleased with the turnout, one veteran wishes the military had as much support.

UNCW welcomes new graduates into world

December is not only a time to celebrate the holidays, but it is also a time to welcome a new generation of graduates into the world. UNCW held commencement ceremonies this weekend for its Professional Schools and College of Arts and Sciences. Over 1,300 young adults left the Trask Coliseum with a degree in hand. These graduates are ready to take on the world, but is the economy ready for them?

3rd Street paving complete

The paving of North 3rd Street is finally over. Now that the paving is complete, crews are finishing the installation of decorative crosswalks, pavement markings and the removal of old utility poles.
