Authorities say a 17-month-old boy has drowned after he managed to get into an above ground pool at his family’s home in Columbus County.
Assistant Coroner William Hannah told local media outlets that Tristen Stewart was found floating face down in the pool around 4 p.m. Sunday at the home near Cerro Gordo.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office says a Marine, believed to be missing, has been found dead.
