2016 Emmy Awards: What to expect
The 2016 Emmy Awards are here and TV is in for a big night!
First, Jimmy Kimmel steps in as host, and his snarky humor should have everyone excited and a bit concerned — that is, if you are a celebrity he plans to make fun of.
After Kimmel gets done telling jokes and probably doing funny pre-taped skits involving unsuspecting fans, the awards will start rolling in, featuring the best and brightest on TV today.
Netflix and HBO both had stellar years once again with “House of Cards” and “Game of Thrones” earning multiple nods. But ABC and FX also had popular shows earning nods like “Black-ish” and “The People v. O.J. Simpson.” “Mr. Robot” is also poised to make headway for USA.
The Emmys is also know for its tributes, and TV and film have both lost some of the all-time greats in 2016. Garry Shandling, Gene Wilder, Doris Roberts and Patty Duke are just a few of the names to be expected.
ABC News will be live-blogging the event starting at 6:30 p.m. ET, with details from the red carpet pre-show, featuring all the glitz and glam. Then the show starts at 8 p.m.! The blog is embedded below and will feature not only details but also pics from the event.
