2018 NC State Fair sets 2 daily attendance records
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The 2018 N.C. State Fair set a couple of daily attendance numbers.
The fair was marred by a late start after rain and high winds from Tropical Storm Michael canceled opening day – making Oct. 12 opening day.
Fair officials already announced 2018’s opening day (78,275) was larger than in 2017 (57,083).
In daily attendance figures announced Monday, officials said the second Friday and the final day of the fair were new all-time high numbers.
The total attendance for the 10-day event this year was 977,256.
The record for total state fair attendance is 1,091,887, which was set in 2010.
