UPDATE: Suspect arrested for armed robbery at ATM

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says they have made an arrested for an armed robbery that occurred Thursday night.

NHCSO Spokesman says 21-year-old Darrius Akeem Robinson was arrested for allegedly robbing a woman at gunpoint at an ATM.

Deputies said it happened Thursday just before 8 p.m. at an ATM in the 2600 block of Castle Hayne Road. They said the robber walked up behind her, pointed a gun and demanded money.

The victim told deputies when the machine timed out and returned her card, the robber grabbed it and ran off.
