Starbucks adds Latte Macchiato to menu starting today

(CNN) — Starbucks has added a new drink to its permanent menu. It’s call the Latte Macchiato.

It consists of full espresso shots and steamed whole milk.

The Latte Macchiato is the first espresso drink the coffee giant has added to its menu in a year.

The new drink rolls out today at Starbucks stores in the US, Canada and most of Latin America.

Latte Macchiato joins the existing core espresso family, which includes Doppio Espresso, Caffé Americano, Flat White, Cappuccino and Caffé Latte. Starbucks released the graphic below to show where the new drink falls on the spectrum of espressos.
