29th annual Oozeball draws biggest crowd since pandemic
Longstanding tradition gives students a chance to decompress before finals
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – Students, alumni and faculty celebrated the beautiful weekend with the 29th annual Oozeball event, taking place Saturday at UNCW.
It’s branded as ‘a huge mud volleyball game.’ Teams of six to eight play an abbreviated version of the sand game in a single elimination tournament beginning at 9:30 a.m.
There were 47 teams this year, which is 20 more than last. In total, around 390 players participated this year. That’s the biggest event since the COVID-19 pandemic.
