WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington International Airport officials say the airport’s snow and ice plan has been activated as the area prepares for potential winter weather.

Airport officials said snow removal crews and snow and ice equipment are ready, and safety remains the top priority. Maintenance and Operations teams will be on site throughout the storm.

Officials noted that airlines will make their own decisions regarding flight schedules. Travelers are encouraged to check their flight status directly with their airline before heading to the airport and to allow extra time for travel.
