Governor Stein visits Belville for ribbon-cutting of new DMV office
BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — In addition to the Governor’s visit to Wilmington, he also made a special appearance at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new DMV office in Brunswick County.
The new temporary DMV office is in Belville, with Governor Stein attending as a guest speaker.
The office—on Old River Road—has been open since February.
Thursday’s ceremony highlighted what the DMV is doing to improve services across the state.
Stein said this office is another step forward in the right direction, reducing wait times and lines, as well as implementing new online features such as the option to renew your license online and to check current wait times at all DMVs across the state.
Stein also added that there’s still more work ahead.
“We fully understand that the DMV is not where we want it to be. We remain focused on continuous improvement and understand that we have a lot of progress still to make,” said Stein.
The Belville office is the second of four new DMV offices statewide.
An office in Garland opened in December, and two more offices will be opening in Fuquay-Varina and Cabarrus County.
