A kid helping kids: Toy drive underway in Brunswick Forest

LELAND, NC (WWAY) –The drive, called “Trick’s Toys,” is collecting toys through December 12th. Once the drive concludes, the trailer will travel to Jefferson, North Carolina, to bring Christmas cheer to children impacted by Hurricane Helene.

The collection is taking place right next to the big inflatable Santa in Brunswick Forest, where a trailer is ready to be filled with donations.

This drive is being run by a sophomore from Western North Carolina, who wanted to make a difference for other kids in need.

His father, Patrick Tucker, owner of Mahogany Rock Tree Farms, is helping to coordinate the effort.

“We’ve been so grateful for the support from the community,” Patrick says. “Everyone has been so generous in donating toys for the kids in Western North Carolina, and we just want to express our appreciation.”

The inflatable Santa will be taken down after December 2nd, so if you miss him, don’t worry—just look for the trailer when dropping off your donation.
