‘American Idol’ auditions coming to Carolinas

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Do you think you have the chops to be the next American Idol? If so, you won’t have to go too far to audition.

Two cities in the Carolinas are stops on the East Bus Tour for ABC’s revival of “American Idol.”

Superstar hopefuls can audition Aug. 25 in Charleston, SC, or Aug. 27 in Asheville.

If you can’t make one of the nearly two dozen tryout locations announced so far, you still have a chance. You can submit an audition video online.

ABC announced last month it was bringing “American Idol” back to television a year after the show ended a 15-season run on Fox from 2002 through 2016.

GRAMMY-winner Katy Perry has been announced as one of the judges for the show set to premiere next year.
