Anglers’ struggles continue with wet weather
WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — The past week saw some rough seas and lots of rain with only a few fishable days for the ocean-going boats.
Inshore fishing is producing catches of red drum, speckled trout, black drum and flounder. Surf fishing is producing catches of pompano.
Spanish mackerel are being caught along the beaches and around the inlets.
Nearshore fishing is producing catches of king mackerel and mahi.
Bottom fishing is producing catches of grouper, grunts, beeliners, pinkies and nice size black sea bass. Gulf Stream fishing is producing catches of billfish and mahi when the boats can get offshore.
