Anglers will be able to reel in red snapper after nearly decade ban

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s been banned in our area since 2010. Now, the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council says a red snapper season this year has been approved.

The group said in a post on its Facebook page that the final rule should be published this week and then they’ll know more about the opening dates for red snapper harvest in the federal waters of the South Atlantic.
