High school football teams move games again to avoid rain; special 5th Quarter Thursday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Didn’t we just do this last week? Three weeks ago, too?

It looks to be another rainy week in our region. It doesn’t necessarily mean schools have to change the schedule, but some schools have elected to do so.

Due to all the games moved up, WWAY will have a special edition of the 5th Quarter Thursday at 11 p.m.

Varsity football games that will now be played on Thursday this week:
West Columbus at South Columbus 6:30 p.m.
Fairmont at Whiteville 7 p.m.
East Columbus at Red Springs 7 p.m.
Ashley at North Brunswick -7 p.m.
James Kenan at Rosewood 7 p.m.
West Bladen at Wallace-Rose Hill 7 p.m.

Still scheduled for Friday (subject to change)
West Brunswick at Topsail,7:30 p.m.
East Bladen at Clinton 7:30 p.m.
Laney at South Brunswick 7:30 p.m.

Monday
Midway at Pender 7:00 p.m.
Hoggard at New Hanover 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday
Union at Trask 7:00 p.m.
