Are you ready for some foosball?
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Open Foosball Championship began Friday at Break Time Billiards in Wilmington.
People come from all around to play in the tournament for the chance to win cash prizes and trophies, but also to promote a good cause.
A portion of the proceeds go to helping the Brigade Boys and Girls Club. Organizers of the event said the charity is the real reason they put on this event.
“Over the last few years, the last seven or eight years, we’ve been able to donate five brand new Foosball tables, and generate over $50,000 in charitable donations to the Boys and Girls Club,” said Alan Cribbs, the president of Bonzini USA.
The tournament continues Saturday at 10:30 a.m. If you’d like to play, registration is still open. There is a small entry fee of $5 per event.
