Tanner Barth joined the WWAY team in September of 2018 as sports anchor. Tanner was born and raised in a small town in southeastern Colorado. He graduated from Kansas State University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications & Journalism with a minor in Political Science. Before joining the team at WWAY, Tanner was a sports reporter at KKCO-TV in Grand Junction, CO. He has a passion for not only playing sports, but providing the best coverage he can to the Cape Fear. Roupp tosses a gem as UNCW Baseball takes game one from Elon

Landen Roupp limited Elon to a pair of unearned runs and two hits over seven innings as UNCW topped the visiting Phoenix, 6-4, on Friday in Colonial Athletic Association baseball action at Brooks Field.

Brunswick Community College impressive from start to finish in win over CFCC

Brunswick Community College led by double-digits at the halftime break on Thursday and the Dolphins kept their foot on the gas pedal in the second half taking down rival Cape Fear Community College, 94-66. 

UNCW selected as host site for the 2021 NCAA Soccer Championships

Men's and Women's soccer teams from across the national will be headed to the Cape Fear next month. It was announced this week the UNCW soccer complex will be one of the host sites for the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

The Laney girls soccer team scored four goals in a matter of 15 minutes during the second half Monday night to take down South Brunswick in Mideastern Conference play, 5-2.

After nearly a decade there will be a new coach at the helm of the South Brunswick boys basketball program next season. It was announced over the weekend that longtime Cougar head coach Scott Wainwright was stepping down from his position.

New Hanover Boys Soccer sees their unbeaten season fall short in the title game

The New Hanover boys soccer team battled from start to finish on Saturday night in the NCHSAA Class 3A State Championship game, but fell just short in their quest for the schools first soccer title. Weddington claimed the 2021 championship beating the Wildcats in overtime, 2-1.
