Authorities arrest man accused of Hampstead armed robbery

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man accused of two armed robberies has been arrested.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksonville Police Department, arrested the suspect wanted for allegedly robbing the Subway in Sneads Ferry on Nov. 26 and the K Spot Dispensary in Hampstead on Dec. 3.

Russell James May, of Sneads Ferry, was charged with two counts of robbery, possession of stolen property, kidnapping and is currently being held on a $200,000 bond.
