Baby alligator found in Sunset Beach neighborhood

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Sunset Beach Police want residents and visitors to know there is no problem too big- or small for them to handle.

Officers were called to a home on Dogwood Drive on Monday for a baby alligator that was a little too close for comfort for a woman and her granddaughter who are visiting Sunset Beach for the week.

The baby gator was captured and released into a nearby lake.

The department wants residents and visitors to know- If you see an alligator potentially endangering human life or possibly themselves, call the Sunset Beach Police Department or 911.
