BCSO: Leland pair arrested after deputies found drugs and guns


LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Two people were arrested Thursday evening after Brunswick County Sheriff deputies found cocaine, marijuana, and guns at a home in Leland.

24-year-old Zachary Tyler Whitman, of Leland, is charged with PWIMSD cocaine, manufacturing marijuana, PWIMSD marijuana, maintaining a dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Facility where he remains under a $25,000 bond.

28-year-old Mirinda Brette Henderson, of Leland, is charged with PWIMSD marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also booked into the Brunswick County Detention Facility and later released under a $20,000 bond.

Search warrants executed at the house on Parsley Lane and an outdoor shed at the home of a family member on Lanvale Road led to the arrests and the seizure of 3 grams of cocaine, 225 grams of marijuana, 4 marijuana plants, 4 guns, and more than $6,500 in cash.

The arrests are the result of ongoing undercover drug investigations conducted by the BCSO Vice-Narcotics Unit.
