Beach access signs get facelift
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — In Carolina Beach, the beach accesses are getting a bit of a facelift. The town has already started putting up new access signs and will continue until all the accesses match.
The new signs feature the same sea trout design that is used on the newly renovated boardwalk. The project cost the town about $11,000 and is a more unified way to help people get all the information they need before they hit the beach.
“It’s one place to look. When you go there you see all the information you need, whether it’s safety information, how to stay out of a rip current, how to understand what they flags mean for the lifeguards. Or whether it’s what rules apply to the beach, whether it’s stay off the dunes, keep glass off our beach,” said assistant town manager Ed Parvin.
The new signs even show you how to use the Carolina Beach app to stay connected even while you’re on island time.
