Boiling Spring Lakes PD warning residents about scammers posing as police officers

BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — The Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department says they’ve been receiving reports of a scam going around from callers claiming to be police officers.

If you receive a call from someone claiming to be with boiling spring lakes police who says, “you missed jury duty or any kind of court date”… It’s probably a scam.

The department says police will never call you and demand that you stay on the phone until they come to issue you a citation and will not ask you for any type of payment over the phone.
