Brunswick County man charged with murder following June assault
BRUNSWICK COUNTY (WWAY) — A Supply man has been charged with murder in connection with an assault that happened in June.
On June 29, 54-year-old Edward Christopher Stutey was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
The victim, Jamie Caldwell, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, causing the charge to be upgraded to murder.
Stutey was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center on the day of the original incident where he remains in custody.
The case remains under investigation.
