Brunswick Electric awards $80,000 in grants to local organizations

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation (BEMC) has announced the recipients of its 2024 Community Grants program.

A grand total of $80,000 has been awarded to 66 local organizations dedicated to making a lasting, positive impact within the BEMC service territory. These include family services, civic and community programs, cultural and artistic endeavors, emergency services, and pivotal economic development initiatives within their service area.

Since its inception in 2003, BEMC has awarded more than $800,000 through the Community Grants program. These grants have funded hundreds of projects, leaving an imprint on our community fabric.

“The Community Grants program embodies BEMC’s dedication to serving our members and fostering community growth,” said Brookes Versaggi, Manager of Member Engagement at BEMC. “We are immensely proud to partner with these organizations in making a profound difference.”

Applications for the 2025 BEMC Community Grants program will be available starting in December and will be accepted through February 15th.
