Brunswick Family Assistance provides essential supplies at Mobile Pantry in Winnabow

WINNABOW, NC (WWAY) — A local non-profit organization, Brunswick Family Assistance, set up a mobile pantry at Town Creek Park to distribute supplies to those heavily affected by Monday’s storm.

Since 1981, Brunswick Family Assistance has provided emergency assistance during times of crisis.

Today’s event allowed individuals to drive through and collect essential items, including toothbrushes, shampoo, and bottled water.

Kyle Abrams, the organization’s executive director, explained the importance of the mobile pantry during this challenging time. “Obviously, we experienced a lot of flooding, roads were damaged, and homes were affected. We wanted to help in any way we could, so we focused on ensuring people have access to necessities—cleaning supplies, toiletries, kitchen items, food, and water—everything they need to get through.”

Abrams mentioned that they will host more mobile pantry events if there is continued need. “Right now, we’re taking it day by day and will keep our Facebook updated with any new locations and dates,” he added.
