WILMINGTON, NC — Police have charged a Burgaw man in connection with a weekend shooting that injured a pedestrian in downtown Wilmington.

The Wilmington Police Department says 24-year-old Cameron Sidbury is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, going armed to the terror of the people, discharging a firearm in city limits, disorderly conduct by violence, and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

The charges stem from a shooting early Saturday in the 100 block of North Front Street. Investigators say Sidbury was arguing with a woman when he pulled out a gun and fired a round into the ground. A female pedestrian was struck by a bullet fragment. Her injuries were not life-threatening.

Police say Sidbury was arrested Monday and is being held without bond.
