Burgaw seeking nominations for Hometown Hero Banner program

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Burgaw is launching the Hometown Hero Banner Program to recognize local military personnel, past and present, for their service to the nation.

The program is open to active duty, reserve, National Guard, honorably discharged, and fallen service members from Burgaw or Pender County who served in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, or Space Force.

Banners featuring honorees will be displayed within Burgaw’s town limits from Memorial Day through Veterans Day each year.

Applications for the 2025 banners are due by March 7.
