C.B. McGrath not panicking following first loss

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On paper, things didn’t look too good for the UNCW Seahawks men’s basketball team Tuesday in their loss to Davidson, but Coach C.B. McGrath says things aren’t as bad as they seem.

Despite letting Davidson’s Peyton Aldridge score a game-high 37 points in the contest, UNCW still showed good things according to Coach McGrath.

Both Devontae Cacok and Jordon Talley had double-doubles for the team but not many of the other players had the impact the team needed to get the victory. The Seahawks will need guys like Ty Taylor and Marcus Bryan to produce, as well as their young guys.

Coach McGrath says the way to get more out of them is more simple than one would think.

“Just talking with them,” McGrath said. “Whether it’s after practice or an individual meeting with them and just letting them know what they did well, what I’d like them to do better and things for them to work on. I had a couple of individual meetings today with players. I said I know it’s only two games and I’m not going to do this every two games but I want you to get some feedback.”

UNCW will look to get back on track Saturday when they host the Campbell Camels at 7:00 p.m.
