CAA includes two Seahawks on All-CAA Women’s Soccer team

RICHMOND, Virginia (UNCWSports.com) – UNCW senior forward Serenity Waters and freshman midfielder Molly McGarry have been named Third-Team selections on the All-Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Team in voting by the league’s coaches.

McGarry, who was also named to the CAA All-Rookie Team, led the Seahawks in scoring with five goals and one assist. A two-time Rookie-of-the-Week pick, the Charlotte, N.C., native scored both goals in a 2-1 triumph over Campbell and also had tallies against Dayton, Old Dominion and James Madison.

Waters earned All-CAA distinction for the second straight year after scoring 11 points, including a team-high five assists. The Sharpsburg, Ga., product started 16-of-18 games and netted the game-winning goal in wins over Dayton on Aug. 20 and UMBC on Aug. 25.

A four-year letter winner for Coach Paul Cairney, Waters finished her career as the 10th-leading scorer in school history with 53 points. She is also one of nine players to score 20 or more career goals and her 13 career assists rank 10th on the all-time list.
