‘Career offender’ gets federal sentence for drugs, guns

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man will spend more than two decades in prison after admitting to federal gun and drug charges.

A judge today sentenced Antonio Bradley, 33, to 21 years 10 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

In August Bradley pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute heroin and using, carrying and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. The charges stem from a heroin buy New Hanover County deputies made from Bradley in February 2013. A search of his home led to more than 100 bags of heroin, $1,500 and a gun.

Prosecutors say due to his extensive criminal history, Bradley was designated a “career offender”
