Carolina Beach couple face heroin charges

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Carolina Beach Police say they arrested two people on heroin charges after finding more than $100,000 worth of the drug in a home.

Detectives say they joined the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and Wilmington Police Department in serving a search warrants at 213 Raleigh Ave. in Carolina Beach yesterday. They got the warrant after investigating Thomas Jackson and Shannon Muldrow for possible heroin distribution.

Police say their search found more than 3.5 ounces of raw heroin, 1,640 bags of heroin for sale with a street value of about $130,000 and more bags ready to be packed.

Jackson, 26, is in jail without bond, while Muldrow is being held under $3 million bond. Each faces several drug-related charges.

Records show Jackson’s criminal record dates back to 2006 with several convictions for possessing and selling drugs.
