CFCC Men and Women split in NJCAA Round One
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear Community College Men’s and Women’s basketball teams hit the floor this afternoon for their first action in the NJCAA Tournament.
The fortunes were not good for the CFCC men as they lost their game to host Hutchinson Community College by a 24 point margin 84-60.
The Sea Devils trailed by just two at the half but the Blue Dragons put together a 52 point second half to get the victory.
CFCC only shot thirty percent for the game.
It was a much better day for the Cape Fear women, the Sea Devils defeated Kankakee Community College 95-71 to advance to the second round of the NJCAA Tournament.
Andreal Bass led the way for CFCC with 16 points, with Madison Ervin and New Hanover product Ayonna Cotton both in double figures as well.
Cape Fear plays Highland tomorrow in the quarter finals.
