CFCC professor kicks off new year with new lungs

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Talk about a great way to begin the new year! Bob Brennan, a Cape Fear Community College History Professor, has successfully received a double-lung transplant.

Since November, the community and CFCC students and staff have been raising money for Brennan who has Cystic Fibrosis.

On December 31 Brennan had the much needed surgery that saved his life.

Brennan’s brother, Randall Brennan said he has walked a mile every day since Sunday and is in good spirits following the surgery.

Brennan is still in the hospital but hopes to be released next week.

Brennan wants everyone to know how grateful and overwhelmed he is by the generosity and love he has received from the community.
