CFCC women’s basketball breaks consecutive win streak to start season

WILMINGTON, N.C (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College’s women’s basketball team is rewriting the record books, boasting an unmatched 16-0 beginning to their season.

Last night’s 90-41 victory over Brunswick Community College cemented their undefeated run, breaking the Cape Fear women’s basketball record for most wins since the start of the season. The 2022-2023 women’s basketball team held the previous record with a 13-0 start.

The team has dominated the Region 10 Conference this season, claiming the top spot and garnering national attention. Ranked #16 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II, CFCC’s women’s basketball team demonstrates they’re a team to be taken seriously.

“As a team, we’ve faced challenges head-on and grown stronger with every game,” said Todd-Williams. “Our success isn’t just about winning; it’s about the work the girls put in every time they step onto the court. I couldn’t be prouder of their determination.”
