CFPUA issues boil water advisories in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — CFPUA has recinded its boil water advisories as of Tuesday morning.
Crews were making emergency repairs to multiple water mains in Wilmington Monday.
According to a release, the water main breaks happened because of freezing temperatures. Nearly 300 CFPUA customers were affected.
Officials say the affected areas include the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Grace St. and Chestnut St., the 1100 block of Princess St., the 0, 100 and 200 blocks of N. 12th St., 600, 700 and 800 blocks of Colonial Drive, 600 and 700 blocks of Forest Hills Drive and the entire Forest Hills Apartment complex.
Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and bacteria into the water system.
CFPUA advises residents in those areas to boil their drinking water once service returns.
The boil water advisories are in effect until further notice.
