WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for parts of Cheyenne Trail and Apache Trail on Monday.

101 to 214 Cheyenne Trail and the 100 and 200 blocks of Apache Trail are impacted.

Crews are repairing a water main leak and working as quickly as possible to restore service.

There’s an increased risk for back siphonage and bacteria in the water system during periods of low or no pressure in the water distribution system.

Customers are asked to boil their water for one minute and allow it to cool prior to consuming it.

You do not need to boil water prior to bathing or showering but should do so if drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, food preparation, fruit and vegetable washing, pet consumption, and the preparing baby formula.
