Children’s Museum of Wilmington launches first Eek! Week Festival

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is celebrating Halloween with its first-ever Eek! Week, a weeklong festival featuring themed activities, crafts, and treats for children and families.
The event runs daily starting Tuesday and leading up to Halloween, with programs at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., including science experiments, story times, art activities, and literacy-focused events. Each day’s programming is designed to be interactive and family-friendly.
The festival culminates Friday morning with a special celebration where children can wear costumes, visit trick-or-treat stations, and participate in activities such as sensory play, pumpkin-themed crafts, and hands-on experiments. Outdoor activities will focus on toddlers, while indoor activities are available for all ages, from infants to 10-year-olds.

The Children’s Museum has Halloween-related events taking place each day leading up to the holiday.

Tickets for the Friday event are $15 for non-members and $5 for members, and organizers recommend purchasing them online in advance. The Children’s Museum is located on Orange Street in downtown Wilmington. Friday’s event takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
“We thought it would be a great way to celebrate Halloween this year, especially with it falling on a Friday and it being a teacher workday,” said Anna Harris, program coordinator at the museum.
