Classic car show attracts more and more each year

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Classic cars from across the nation lined the Cape Fear River for this 11th annual antique car show.

Rims on the River Vintage Car, Hot Rod & Motorcycle show started Friday and will end Sunday.

On Saturday, Front Street was filled with not only cars, but thousands of people.

Kevin King says he has been coming to the car show for five years now, but the past two he has been participating himself.

“If you have one of these cars it’s kind of cool because people will pull up to a stop light and roll down their window and say Hey, what’s that? or what kind of engine is in that?” King says.

Sunday, riders will meet at the Cape Fear Community College Schwartz Center and ride down to Carolina Beach.
