Coast Guard medevacs man from off Myrtle Beach coast
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WPDE) — Coast Guard crew members rescued a 47-year-old man from a boat 46 miles off the coast of Myrtle Beach Tuesday.
Commanders said at 12:53 p.m. a charter vessel contacted the Coast Guard in Charleston, saying a passenger was having chest pains and needed emergency care.
A Coast Guard helicopter was dispatched to the boat and about an hour later, the crew hoisted the passenger from the boat.
He was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center for care.
There’s no word on his injuries or condition.
