Coast Guard searching for 2 overdue kayakers off Folly Beach

FOLLY BEACH, SC (AP) — The Coast Guard is searching for two people who planned to kayak from Folly Beach to the Morris Island Lighthouse.

The Coast Guard says in a release that 22-year-old Dean Britt and 21-year-old Logan Brown were expected back in Folly Beach before sunset Saturday. The two left about 1 p.m.

A friend of the kayakers notified the Coast Guard on Saturday night they had not returned.

Coast Guard crews and local authorities are searching between Folly Island and the lighthouse.
