Collecting toys for western North Carolina while selling Christmas trees

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A farmer from western North Carolina has been coming to Leland for 15 years to sell Christmas trees, but this year they are doing something a little special.

In addition to selling Christmas trees, they’ve added “Trick’s Toys” inspired by the farmer’s 10th grade son Patrick Jr., who created the idea after Helene devastated western North Carolina.

They will be collecting unwrapped toys that will be brought west to children.

Owner of Mahogany Rock Farms, Patrick Tucker encourages you to bring a toy.

“Bring some toys and come buy a tree if you want to. But, more importantly it’s all about the toys this year. Anything that you can think of that any child would want because we know that there are plenty of people that are unfortunate enough to be affected by this,” Tucker said.

They are located behind the Wendy’s in Brunswick Forest with a big Santa outside, and they will be collecting toys until the 12th of December. They are open 7 days a week from 9:00am to 7:30pm.
