Suspected cocaine dealer busted in Columbus County

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit says it has arrested a man investigators believe distributed large amounts of cocaine around the area.

Detectives say an undercover investigation led to the arrest of Torrence Lesean McMillian, 41, of Whiteville.

On February 22 investigators say they search McMillian’s home at 5011 James B. White Highway North in Whiteville. They say they found approximately three kilograms of cocaine, approximately 28 grams of marijuana, more than $2,000 in cash and a firearm.

Yesterday investigators arrested McMillian and charged him with possession with the intent to sell and/or deliver marijuana, maintaining vehicle/dwelling/place for use, sale or storage of controlled substance and trafficking in cocaine.

Deputies booked McMillian into jail under $62,000 bond.

McMillian’s criminal record includes drug convictions in the 1990s, according to the NC Department of Public Safety’s website.
