Columbus County saturation patrol leads to methamphetamine arrest

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man was arrested on drug charges during a recent saturation patrol in Columbus County.

Deputies say they located an amount of methamphetamine in the vehicle of Michael Canady along with paraphernalia.

Canady was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was transported to Columbus County Detention Center where he received a $1,500 secured bond.

Law enforcement also issued the following during the operation:

1 – Driving While Impaired Violation

4 – Safety Belt Violations

2 – Uninsured Motorists Violations

5 – Drug Violations

2 – Speeding Violations

2 – Driving while License Revoked Violations

2 – Wanted Persons Arrested

21 – Other, Not Listed Traffic Violations
