Columbus County Sheriff’s Office hosting National Prescription Drug Take Back event

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office partners with the Whiteville Police Department for the Drug Enforcement Administration National Prescription Drug Take Back event happening on Saturday.

It will take place on October 25th from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Walmart Whiteville Supercenter.

They will be collecting unwanted, expired, or unused prescription medications for safe disposal, completely anonymous.

By cleaning out your medicine cabinets, you’re helping keep your home and community safer while preventing prescription drug misuse.

Accepted:

  • Tablets
  •  Capsules
  • Patches
  •  Other solid prescription medications

Not Accepted:

  • Syringes or sharps
  • Illicit drugs
  • Liquids (unless sealed in original containers)
  • Pressurized containers such as inhalers or aerosol-type medications
